Restoring Mobility, Restoring Dignity

Every person deserves the freedom to move, participate, and live with dignity. Through our Mobility Aid Programme, WAVE helps people with disabilities access wheelchairs and essential mobility equipment so they can move more independently and take part in everyday life.

The Need for Mobility

A Wheelchair Can Change a Life

For millions of people around the world, a wheelchair is not simply a piece of equipment it can mean greater independence, dignity, and the ability to participate in everyday life.

The need is particularly serious in developing communities, where many people with disabilities cannot afford or access appropriate mobility equipment. In Pakistan, millions of people with disabilities face barriers that can leave them dependent on others for basic movement and daily activities.

Limited access to healthcare, poverty, stigma, and difficult living conditions can make life even harder for people with disabilities, especially those living in remote and underserved communities.

Our Response

Providing Mobility, Creating Independence

WAVE Australia’s Mobility Aid Programme works with local and international donors to provide free wheelchairs and other essential medical equipment to people who need them most.

We also work alongside local partners, including provincial governments, to improve access to appropriate mobility equipment and strengthen services for people with disabilities.

Our goal is simple: to help more people move freely, live with greater independence, and participate fully in their communities.
